Temporary price increases

Why we are increasing prices temporarily

I never imagined having to write a post like this. But we want to be fully transparent on what's currently going on and how we are dealing with it. But first let's quickly talk about what will be changing:

What’s changing

Starting Monday, October 26, 2026, RAM at HypeServ will cost €3.50 instead of €3.00 per GB per month (incl. VAT).

However there are two very important things about this change we want to make clear:

  • Nothing changes for existing servers.

  • New orders, upgrades and game changes are billed at the new price. Once an existing package is changed, the whole package moves to the new price. We ideally wanted to apply price changes only to new orders, but our system currently has no way of differentiating base pricing between these 3 cases at the moment. If you want your game changed without incurring the new pricing, please reach out to our support and we'll take care of it.

What happened

When we initially set our prices (back in 2024), RAM was a predictable cost. Since then, demand from (AI) data centers has turned the memory market upside down. The RAM we usually put into our servers now costs us over 8 times what it did back then.

We chose to absorb that for as long as we could. Every new server we built over the past months was more expensive than the one before. Yet your price stayed the same, because we believe a game server shouldn’t get more expensive just because the market went crazy or to increase shareholder value.

We tried to cut costs elsewhere, held off on other investments we wanted to do, and hoped prices would come back down or stabilize at least.

They didn’t. And we’ve reached the point where we can’t keep going like this. At our current price, every new server we add costs us money, so we can’t buy the hardware we need to grow. Our approach to Hardware has always been what lets us keep giving you fast servers and we've specifically decided not to compromise on it, or resort to renting out other providers hardware and reselling it to you instead.

For context

We’re not the only ones feeling this. Hetzner has raised its own prices several times this year. Even at our new price, our cost per GB of RAM is roughly on par with a comparable dedicated server from their AX102 line. That’s a bare server on an older CPU generation, with no panel, no support and no game server management included. (Also I want to quickly throw in they are operating on an entirely different scale which is not at all comparable to us!)

Temporary! And we mean it

We don't just want to establish this as the new normal. As soon as hardware prices stabilize (that is saying IF they do!), we’ll roll the increase back.

Thank you for sticking with us, for your patience, and for understanding that this decision wasn’t an easy one. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to reach out on Discord. We’re happy to talk it through or give background to why we needed to do this.

¹. While our infrastructure is primarily powered by AMD Ryzen™ 9 9950X processors, we may occasionally deploy equivalent high-performance CPUs that deliver comparable results. This is not the standard setup and is only done when the performance level fully matches or exceeds our specifications.
